Wesley L. "Christy" Christensen, 91, of Monticello and formerly of Waupaca Co., Wisconsin passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by his loving family and friends on August 13, 2004, after a 2 year illness.
Christy is survived by his devoted (Forever +2) wife Margaret Ann. "Daughter of Mine" and constant caregiver for the past 8 months, Linda (Scott) Bruce, also of Monticello; son Norman (Helen) Ferrier of Tamms, Ill.; sons Wesley Jr. and Dale Christensen, both of Wisconsin; daughter, Nancy J. Hubbard of Kingsley, Mich.; brother Pastor Andrew Stanley (Mary Ann) Christensen, of Johnson Creek, Wisc. Dearly loved and admired by 10 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren and beloved nieces and nephews.
Special friends; Lenny and Dorie Faifer, Jim Coomba, Edna Worthy and Ron Donahue and family and many, many more. Tom and Hope Ann Harvey of Wisc.
He was preceded in death in May 2004 by his grandson Billy Ferrier of 111., and granddaughter Jennifer Seeley of Pa.
Christy was born in Chehalis, Washington on May 23, 1913, where he graduated with honors. They then moved to Wisconsin where he graduated with honors from University of Wisc. (Madison) with a degree in Dairy Science. He was a plant manager for the McKesson Corp., in Appleton, Wisc. for many years.
During WWII he was a Communications Officer, Lt. (JG) aboard the USS Rhodolite in the South Pacific. After the war he remained in the Naval Reserves until l968.
He was an avid Ham Operator for many years.
His great smile will be dearly missed by all of his friends from Wisc., Fla., and his Lakewood friends in Monticello.
Memories are made everyday [sic] and he made many for all of us. His loving ways, his great stories and his wonderful sense of humor. [sic] He'll never truly leave us because memories last forever! A very special thank you to his Homecare Nurse, Suzanne Maxson and Caregiver Mary Durflinger. We can never express how thankful we are to have you in our lives.
Funeral services were at the Kellogg Funeral Home in Monon on August 16 with Pastor A.S. Christensen >officiating. Burial was in Chapel Cemetery.
