Dale W.Carr

Dale W. Carr, 90, a native of Brookston, formerly of St. Petersburg, Florida, died Saturday, Nov. 23, at 6 a.m. in Northwest Community Hospital, Chipley, Florida He had ill for 18 months.

He was born Dec. 24, 1900, to Frank and Laveda Wesner Carr, in Brookston, and was married to Fannie Scott, in Monticello, 1921. She expired Nov. 27, 1978.

He lived in Monticello, from 1921-64 and St. Petersburg, Florida, for 18 years.

He operated a restaurant in Monticello, for several years and was an accountant for Internal Revenue Service for several years.

He attended the First Presbyterian Church, Monticello and was a member, of the Masonic Lodge, Monticello, and Indianapolis Valley of the Scottish Rite.

Survivors are four sons: Dr. Richard, Douglasville, Ga.; Robert and Rex, both of Cottondale, Fla.; and Donald, Homestead, Fla.; three daughters, Yvonne Goatley, Albuquerque, N.M.; Lois Coble, Lafayette; Kay Shere, Dallas, Tx.; 18 grand and 19 great grand-children.  A brother hind two sisters are deceased.

The funeral was today at 10:30 a.m. in Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home with Rev. James H. Rucker Jr. officiating.

Burial was in Chalmers Cemetery.
