Thomas E. Capper, Jr., 61, of Evansville, the brother of Brookston residents, died Tuesday, January 9, 2001, at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville.
He was born in Brookston on June 12, 1939, to Thomas Everett and Goldia L. Oilar Capper. He married Connie Elleson in Nashville, Tenn. On January 2, 1977. She survives.
He attended Brookston schools and received his G.E.D.
He served in the U.S. Army and was a PFC in the 693rd Engineers company. He was discharged in 1967.
He had lived in Lafayette and Evansville for the past 11 years.
He was retired from General Foods, Evansville.
He was a member of the American Legion and AMVETS Post 91, Monticello.
He is survived by his wife, daughter, Tiffany Capper of Evansville; brother Louis (Janet) Capper of Brookston, sisters, Barbara Sutton and Theresa (Paublo) Caudillo, all of Brookston; Nancy (Max) Gordon of Okeechobee, Fla., and Joan McClaughry of Everett, Wash.
An internment graveside service for family and friends was held Saturday at I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Brookston with Rev. Dr. Lelan McReynolds officiating. Hartzler Funeral Home was in charge.
