Ralph W. Byroad Sr., 59, 4418 N.W. Shafer Dr., died Tuesday, October 27, at his residence.  He had been ill for four months.

He was born Jan. 2, 1939, to Alfred Earl and Elvina E. Miller Byroad, in Monon. He married Jeanette Tomatier in New York in 1982, and she survives.

He graduated from Francesville High School in 1956.

He was a truck driver most his life, He had lived in Monon since May, prior to that he lived in Fort Plains, N.Y.

He is survived along with his wife in Fort Plains. N.Y.; by his mother in Monon; four sons, Ralph Jr., of Portage, George of Monon and Jerrod and Vincent, both of Fort Plains, N.Y.; three daughters, Wendy Caukins, Echo Byroad and Faith Byroad all of Fort Plains, N.Y.; a brother, Alfred Jr. of Bumpus Mill, Tenn.; three sisters, Donna Jean Willoughby, Monticello, Mary Bietzinger, Valparaiso and Darlene Moyer, Cheyenne, Wyoming and 10 grandchildren.

A son and daughter are deceased.

Funeral services were Friday at Kellogg Funeral Home, Monon, with the Rev. William Kehlhofer officiating

Burial was in Bedford Cemetery.
