Harley Bufkin, 84, Monticello died Monday, March 11, 2002 at White County Memorial Hospital. He was born November 11, 1917 in Dwight, Illinois the son of Christopher and Pearl Adams Bufkin.
The family lived in Rensselaer where he graduated from Rensselaer High School in 1937, then moved to Brookston in 1959 and to Monticello in 1979.
He married Artha L. Gosnell on December 8, 1938 in Powler, Indiana. She died November 2, 1997.
He was a salesman at Sears in Lafayette from l955 to 1970.
He was a member of Moose Lodge 1529 in Lafayette.
He and his wife operated Edwood Glen Country Club in West Lafayette from 1970 until his retirement in 1980.
A daughter Sandra Kay (Richard) Slusser of Monticello and a brother Clarence (Maxine) Bufkin of Reynolds survives [sic] him.
Two grand daughters Julie Bunch and Beth Murray also survive, along with five grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Two sisters and two brothers preceded him in death.
Friends may call at the Hartzler Funeral Home in Brookston from 4~9 p.m. today. Funeral services will be at the funeral home at 2 p.m. on Thursday with Rev. Dr. Lelan McReynolds officiating.
Burial will be in I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Brookston.
