Phyllis Jean Brown, 63, Monon, died at 11:55 a.m. Wednesday at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Lafayette, after a 4 1/2 year illness. She was born July 3, 1924, in Lee, Ind., the daughter of Glenn T. and Georgia Hayes Culp.

A retired nurse with the North White School Corp., she married Billy 0. Brown, July 7, 1946, in Francesville. She graduated from the Gary Methodist Hospital School of Nursing.

A member of the Monon United Methodist Church in Monon, she is survived by her husband, father, and two sons: Jeffrey Brown, Monon, and Timothy Brown, Brookston, and four grand children. One sister and her mother preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be at the Stewart Funeral Home in Monon, at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, with Pastor Randy Miller officiating.  Burial will be in Bedford Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Stewart Funeral Home after 5:00 p.m., Friday.
