Max E. Brown

Max E. Brown, 82, of Monticello died Monday, July 21, 2003 at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Lafayette.

He was born August 26, 1920 in Newton County to Hollis D. and Leota Dirst Brown.

He married Viona J. Foulks on March 11, 1949, in Jasper County. She survives.

He was a 1938 graduate of Morgan Township High School in Porter County.

He had worked for 33 years as a purchasing agent for Bryan Manufacturing Company and five years as purchasing agent for Tru-Flight Arrow, both of Monticello. He retired from Tru-Flight in 1985.

He was a very active member of the Zion Bethel Church in Monticello.

He and his wife had wintered at Buttonwood Bay in Sebring, Florida for the past 18 years.

Other survivors include a son, Jerry L. (Cheryl) Brown of Floyds Knobs; a sister Doris (Lewis) Hoover of Rensselaer; four grandchildren.

Funeral services were at Zion Bethel Church on Thursday, July 24, 2003, with Rev. Jeff Messer officiating.

Burial was at Bedford Cemetery, Monon.
