Mary L. "Mama" Boren

"Mama" Mary L. Boren, 71, of Monon died Friday, June 3, 2005 at her residence following a six month illness.

She was born September 8, 1933 in Pulaski, Tenn., the daughter of Walter and Rosie Mae Cook Moss. She married Thomas J. Boren on January 21, 1971 in Calumet City, Ill. He died October 15, l995.

A homemaker, she had lived in Monon for the past 8 years coming from Calumet City, Ill.

She was a member of the Monon Eagles Lodge.

She is survived by three [sic] daughters, Glenda Combs of Merrillville, Debra (Dennis) Blotnicki of Monon, Susan Phipps of Rensselaer and Tracy (Paul) Jampock of Lansing, Ill[.] and a special companion, Robert Marzke; a brother, Roland Moss, Athens, Ala.; two sisters, Helen (Wayne) Taylor, Kennedy, Ala., and Peggy (Berry) Gary, Ind.; 13 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.

One sister and three brothers are deceased.

Memorial services were June 7^th at Kellogg Funeral Home with Pastor Scott Chastain officiating.
