Rebecca 'Becky' Booze

Rebecca A. "Becky" Booze, 80, Monticello, died Wednesday, October 3, at Monticello Assisted Living and healthcare.

She was born October 19, 1920, to Samuel and Eva Standeford Witthoft, in Indianapolis. She was married June 19, 1943, to George C. Booze in Indianapolis. He died July 26, 1988.

She was a 1938 graduate of Shortridge High School, Indianapolis. She moved to Monticello in 1960 after leaving Indianapolis.

She worked for 14 years at RCA and was a hostess at Marmolijo's Trio Restaurant.

She was a member of the Reynolds United Baptist Church.

She was past president of the AARP. She was active in United Way and a member of the Lake Ladies Social Club. She was an avid bowler and card player.

Surviving are her daughter Judith A. Booze of Monticello; a son, Jeffrey D. (Pamela) Booze of Kokomo; five grandchildren; three great grandchildren; brothers Samuel Witthoft and Louis Witthoft, both of Tuscon [sic], Arizona; a sister, Edith Coleman of Martinsville and several nieces and nephews.

Services were conducted Saturday at the Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home, Monticello, with Dr. Richard McQuinn and Rev. Dan Coomer officiating.

Burial was in Bedford Cemetery, Monon.

Memorials may be given to United Way.
