Helen A. Blume, 79, of Monticello, died Wednesday, October 1, 2003, at White County Memorial Hospital.

She was born October 21, 1923 in Wilkes-Barre, PA, the daughter of John and Anna Dvorcin Miller. She married James T. Blume, Sr., on July 18, 1945 in Wilkes-Barre, PA. He died May 28, 1999.

She was a 1941 graduate of James Caughlin High School, Wilkes-Barre, PA.

A homemaker, she had moved to the Monon Area in 1971 from Lafayette. She was an avid bird lover.

She was a member of Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic Church in Monticello.

Survivors include two sons, James T. (Jackie) Blume, Jr., of Avondale, AZ, and Terrance (Carol) Blume, Sr., of West Lafayette; two sisters, Mrs. John (Emily) Shevchuk of Wilkes-Barre, PA and Mrs. Joseph (Mary) Malocheski of Wilkes-Barre; fourteen grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and 1 Great-Great Grandson.

Five brothers are deceased.

Private services for the family only were at the Kellogg Funeral Home in Monon on Friday, October 3, 2003, with Father James Goodrum officiating.

Burial was at Tippecanoe Memory Gardens in Lafayette.
