William 0. Blackman, 79, Monticello died Wednesday, November 15, 2000 at St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Lafayette.

He was born in White County on March 29, 1921, to Otis Grant and Zenaclea Harritt Blackman. He married Beulah Maxine Dyer in Brookston on March 30, 1957. She survives.

He was employed by Pennsylvania Railroad and Penn Central. He retired from Conrail Railroad in 1979.

He moved from Brookston to Monticello in 1989. He is survived by his wife; brothers, Howard (Wilma) Blackman of Headlee, Harry Blackman of Burnettsville, Bon (Mary) Blackman of Gainesville, FL., and Burl Blackman of Logansport and sister Mabel (Bill) Hilgeman of Peru.

Funeral services were Saturday at Hartzler Funeral Home in Brookston with Pastor Jan Dimick officiating. Burial was at IOOF Cemetery, Brookston.
