Pearl Mae Bice

Pearl Mae Bice, 95, formerly of Chalmers, died Monday, Dec. 3, at 11:50 am. in White Co. Memorial Hospital, Monticello. She had lived with her daughter at 713 S. Bluff St., Monticello, for the last two years.

She was born Jan. 23, 1895, to Sherman and Catherine Wilson Lafoon, in Iroquois, Ill. She was married Oct. 1913, to Leonard Bice, who died in 1973.

She had lived in Chalmers since 1937, before moving to her daughters home in Monticello.

She was a former member of Big Creek Home Ec Club and Chalmers Afternoon Circle. She was a member of Chalmers Community Church.

Survivors include three daughters; Neva Adams and Marjorie Osterberg, both of Wheatfield and Juanita Fishel, Monticello; three sons, Marion, Earl Park; Harold, Lafayette and Kenny, Pennville; a brother, Marvin Lafoon, Richardson, Calif.; 35 grandchildren; 78 great grandchildren; and nine great-great grandchildren.

A son, three daughters, three sisters and four brothers are deceased.

The funeral was today at 1 p.m. in Chalmers Community Church with the Rev Loren Shuman officiating. Hartzler Funeral Home, Brookston was in charge of the service.

Burial was in Chalmers Cemetery.
