Melton Gordon "Mel" Best

Melton Gordon "Mel" Best, 67, formerly of Monticello died Tuesday, January 10, 2006, at Indianapolis.

He was born at Brookston on April 20, 1938, to Roy and Juanita (Johnson) Best.

He was a veteran of the US Army.

Survivors include sister, Mary Lou Cadwallader, Monticello; son, Brian L. Best, Los Angeles, Calif.; brother Roy W. "Shorty" (Joy) Best, Spokane, Wash; former wives, Louisa Thomas, St. Petersburg, Fla. and Bobbi Sanders, Indianapolis; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncle, cousins, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

Funeral services were Wednesday at Miller-Roscka Funeral Home with Pastor Ross Terry officiating.

Burial was at Davis Cemetery, Burnettsville with full military rites.

Memorials may be made to the White County Chapter of American Cancer Society or American Diabetes Association.
