Everet M. Bess, 92, of Marble Hill, Missouri and formerly of Monon, died at St. Francis Hospital in Cape Giardeau [sic], Missouri, Tuesday.

Born Nov. 17, 1894 in Lutesville, Missouri, he was the son of John and Ida Shell Bess. He married Lou Fewell, Dec. 20, 1917. She died Jan. 14, 1974. His second marriage was to Vera Payne, in 1976. She died in 1980. On Sept. 20, 1980, he married Lettie Van Meter, who survives.

A member of the Hahn Chapel Baptist Church in Marble Hill, he is survived by a daughter, Rosemary Freeman,' Pennbroke, Virginia and two sons, Richard Bess of Battle Ground and Bloice Bess of Matoon, Illinois.

Other survivors include two brothers, Ernest Bess of Fairbury, Ill, and Milford Bess of. Decatur, Ill. and one sister, Edna Frohreich of Logansport. He had 9 grand children, 12 great grandchildren and 2 step grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at the Stewart Funeral Home in Monon, at 10 a.m. Saturday, with burial in Bedford Cemetery. Friends may call at the Stewart Funeral Home after 6:00 p.m., Friday.
