Jason E. Berry, 80, Chalmers, died at 7:45 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 29, at Heritage Healthcare Center, West Lafayette. He had been a patient there for the past year and one half.

He was born Sept. 7, 1907, in Jackson County, Ind., to Luther and Maggie (Hands) Berry. He farmed in Round Grove Township, retiring in 1968 and moved to Chalmers.

He was a member of the Chalmers Bible Center.

His marriage on March 4, 1938, in Fowler was to Stella Jane Abney, who survives.
Also, surviving are two daughters: Mrs George (Louise) Lawless, Lafayette and Mrs Robert (Betty) Knowles, Lafayette; along with a stepdaughter, Mrs Arnold (Dean Mead) Bolan, of Hartselle, Ala. A grandson, Michael Allen Berry, who was raised in their home, also survives. Other survivors are a brother, Kenneth Berry, Arcadia, FL., 11 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. One brother and one sister are deceased.

The funeral was at Hartzler Funeral Home, Brookston, last Sunday at 3 p.m. with the Rev Charles Fluckey officiating. Burial was in Chalmers Community Cemetery.
