Oliver R. Bell, 81, a retired Chalmers farmer died Monday, June 15, at 10:38 a.m. in St. Elizabeth Hospital Medical Center in Lafayette. He had been in failing health.

He was born Sept. 21, 1905, in Wayne County, Kentucky, and had been a resident of this area for 57 years and was living at R.1, Chalmers.

Mr Bell was a member of Chalmers Community Church.

He was married to Minnie L. Davenport, Sept. 9, 1929, and she survives.

Also surviving are a son, Gary W. Bell of Chalmers; and two daughters, Mrs Robert W. (Patricia) Allen, Chalmers and
 Mrs Richard L. (Beverly) Overmyer of Francesville. Also surviving are 8 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren. Four brothers, 2 sisters preceded in death.

Services were this morning at 10 a.m. at Hartzler Funeral Home, Brookston, with Rev Loren Shuman officiating.

Burial was in Chalmers Community Cemetery.
