Minnie L. Davenport Bell, 84, R.1, Chalmers, died Wednesday, June 17, 10 p.m. in St. Elizabeth
Hospital, Lafayette, where she had been a patient since June 5.

She was born in Bell Farm, Ky., April 15, 1908, to Hiram Elmer and Esther Bell Davenport. She was married Sept. 9, 1929, to Oliver H. Bell, in Monticello, Ky., and he died June 15, 1987.

She had lived in the Chalmers area since the 1930s and was a homemaker. She was a member of Chalmers Community Church and West Point Home Extension Club since 1947.

Survivors include a son, Gary W. Bell, R.l, Chalmers; two daughters, Mrs Robert (Patricia) Allen, Chalmers and Mrs Richard (Beverly) Overmyer, R.2, Francesville, two sisters, Mrs Dorothy Linderer, Chalmers and Mrs. Shellie Hazel Dagley, West Lafayette, eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Two sisters and three brothers are deceased.

The funeral was Saturday, June 20 at 10:30 a.m. in Hartzler Funeral Home, Brookston, with Rev. Loren Shuman officiating.

Burial was in Chalmers Community Cemetery.
