Betty Joe Yokum Becker, 71, West Lafayette and formerly of Brookston, died Monday in St.
Elizabeth Hospital Medical Center.

She was born Dec. 20, 1923 in Elkins, West Virginia, to Otis B. and Ruby Ruth Currence Yokum.
She married Donald E. Becker on July 1, 1978 in Lafayette and he survives.

She moved to Brookston from Tippecanoe County in 1974 and to West Lafayette in 1984.

She had been employed at Purdue University from 1974 to 1984 as a baker.

She was a member of the Brookston Federated Church.

Surviving with her husband are three daughters, Pamela J.Bell of North Carolina, Rebecca Cherri Currence of Mill Creek, West Viriginia. and Dr. Robin B. Churchill of Jacksonville FL; two stepdaughters, Donna Rietschlin of London, Ontario, Canada, and Susan Becker of Cleveland OH; two grandchildren and eight stepgrandchildren.

Two brothers, Roger and Charles, are deceased.

A memorial service was held Wednesday in Hartzler Funeral Home, Brookston.

Inurnment will be at a later date
