Thomas Paul Bauer, 27, Oxford, Indiana died March 7 in rural Benton County near Boswell.

He was born Febraury 10,1970 in Clinton, Iowa the son of Brayton Lee and Marlene Austin Bauer. 

A 1987 graduate of Benton Central High School, he was a Freshman at Purdue University. 

He worked at Whiskey Barrel Planters in Boswell and had also worked Deep Sea Fishing in Alaska. He served in the US Army from 1987 to 1990.

He had a son, Thomas Bauer of Lafayette; 2 brothers, Mark Lee Bauer, Fowler and Charles James Bauer of Cincinnati, Ohio, and one sister, Mrs Alan (Hope) Deno, of Boswell.

Other survivors include his parents Brayton and Marlene Bauer of Oxford; his grandmother, Florence Austin of Lafayette and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

There will be a private family service on Thursday with burial in Chalmers Community Cemetery, at Chalmers.

Arrangements were being made by Hartzler Funeral Home in Brookston.
