Verna Belle (Westfall) Bartlett, 87, of Monticello, formerly of Brookston, died Sunday, December 18, 2005, at Monticello Assisted Living and Healthcare.
She was born June 1, 1918 at Cadillac, Mich., to Henry and Rosa Belle Wernigh Westfall.
She married Kenneth Eugene Bartlett on September 9, 1936 in Lafayette. He died February 1, 1999.
She was a homemaker. Her husband Kenney started Bartlett Ford in 1955 and she was his secretary for several years.
She was a 50-year plus member of the Brookston United Methodist Church where she was very active in the Sunday school program. She was also a Past Grand Noble in the Rebekah Lodge of Brookston.
She enjoyed fishing, working in her flower garden and hunting sea shells in Florida.
Survivors include sons Harry L. (Lila) Bartlett, Monticello and Dale E. (Judy) Bartlett, Brookston; daughter Beverly Jo (Carroll) Henson, Goreville, Ill.; sister Mary Lue [sic] Marcum, Kingman, Ariz.; 7 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren
She is preceded in death by her parents, sister Barbara Ann Hasselbring and an infant sister, Hazel James.
Funeral services were Tuesday, December 20, 2005 at Hartzler-Clapper Funeral Home, Brookston with Interment in Brookston I.O.O.F. Cemetery with Rev. Joe Hornick officiating.
