Margene Vivian Bartlett, 73, Brookston, died Saturday, August 16, at St. Elizabeth Hospital Medical Center, Lafayette.  She had been a patient there since Thursday, and had been ill for three months.

She was born January 31, 1924, to Thomas and Alvina Eggert Saltwell, in Francesville. She was married February 16, 1945, to Harry Bartlett Jr.,, in Brookston.

She graduated in 1942, from Brookston High School.

She was a homemaker and a past member of Round Grove Home Ec Club.

Surviving with her husband are two sons, Dennis L and Tommy L. of Brookston; a daughter, Mrs Eugene (Sandra) K. Clawson, Brookston and a grandson.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, August 19, at Hartzler Funeral Home, Brookston, with Pastor Lelan D. McReynolds officiating.

Burial was at IOOF Cemetery, Brookston.
