Mason Barrett

Mason Barrett, 84, Brookston, died at 6:a.m., Wednesday, September 27, at his home. He had been in ill health since May.

He was born August 17, 1916, to Cyrus Franklin and Lesta Criswell Barrett, in Prairie Township. White County.

He was baptized at Springdale Baptist Church and attended Brookston schools.

He was a retired farmer.

Surviving are seven sons, Robert (Thelma) Barrett, Wolcott; Thomas (Bonnie) Barrett, Avon Park, Florida; Rex (Mary) Barrett, Reynolds; Joseph (Thanh) Barrett, Garden Grove, Calif.; Cyrus (Pauletta) Barrett, Sebring, Florida; Curtis (Sandy) Barrett, of Reynolds; four daughters, Evelyn Barrett, Brookston; Donna (Richard) Dexter, Kingma; Judy (William) Wellman, Brookston and Lillian Barrett, Lafayette; a brother, Wilbur C. Barrett, Monticello; two sisters, Grace Nelson and Lillian (Stanley Jr.) Newhard, both of Lafayette, 25 grandchildren; 35 great grandchildren and a great-great grandchild.

Two brothers and two sisters are deceased

Funeral services were conducted Friday at Hartzler Funeral Home, Brookston, with the Rev. Dr. Lelan McReynolds officiating.

Burial was in Chalmers Community Cemetery.

Memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society.
