Kimberty Barnes

Kimberly L. "Kim" Barnes, 33, of Burnettsville, died Friday, February 18, 2005, at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Lafayette.

She was born April 3, 1971, at Lafayette, the daughter of Ralph Kent and Linda Naugle Macy. She married Brian D. Barnes on June 12,1993. He survives.

She had lived in White County all of her life and was a 1989 graduate of Twin Lakes High School in Monticello.

She graduated from Purdue University in 1993 with a bachelor's degree in education, and in 2003 earned a master's degree in education from Indiana Wesleyan University in Marion.

She taught school at both Hillcrest Elementary in Delphi and at Eastlawn Elementary (Twin Lakes School Corporation) in Burnettsville.

She was a pre-school education teacher, teaching for the Logansport Joint Area Special Services Cooperative (LJASSC)[.]

She was a member of the Monticello Christian Church.

She was an avid quilter and loved reading books. She especially loved her boys.

Other survivors include sons Brian Cole and Ty Evan Barnes, at home in Burnettsville; a step daughter Sarah Barnes of Logansport and a step son, Zachary "Zach" Barnes also at home in Burnettsville; mother and step father Linda and Al Hintzman of Monticello; father Ralph Kent Macy of Prescott, Ariz.; a sister. Lisa (Randy) Kopka of Brookston and niece and nephew Brittany and Nicholas Kopka, at home in Brookston.

Funeral services were at the Monticello Christian Church on Wednesday, February 23 with Rev. Chris Dodson, officiating.

Burial was in Davis Cemetery, at Burnettsville.
