Frances Bell Barnes, 90, of Frankfort, and formerly of Monticello died Sunday, February 9, 2003, at St. Vincent's Hospital in Frankfort.
She was born in Burke, N.D., on October 5, 1912, to Arthur and Etha Warrick Jay. She married Charles Barnes on March 11, 1934. He died June 19, 1995.
She had lived in White County since she was two years old, and was a 1930 graduate of Monticello High School.
She and her husband were farmers in White County, and she was a homemaker.
She was a member of the Guernsey Church of the Brethren.
Survivors include sons; James E. (Kathy) Maxedon of Montreal, Canada and Joel T. (Ann) Barnes of Frankfort; sisters Virginia Overfield of Granville, Ohio, and Alice Hare of Monticello; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren
A brother Russell Jay, and a sister Clara Watterson, are deceased.
Funeral services were Saturday, February 15, 2003, at Fisher-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home in Monticello with Pastor Dana Hood officiating.
Burial was in Pike Creek Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Guernsey Church of the Brethren or Frankfort Christian Church.
