Judy Kaye Banes

Judy Kaye Banes, 33, died Friday, Aug. 29, at noon in St. Elizabeth Hospital, from injuries received in a traffic accident.

She was born Aug. 28, 1958, in Lafayette and was a 1976 graduate of Frontier High Shcool.  She had taken classes at Purdue.

She was a former emergency medical technician and Chalmers first-responder. For eight years she was precinct committeewoman for Big Creek Township. She worked at the Monticello License Branch for 10 years and worked the past two years at Purdue as a secretary in the school's Nuclear Energy Department.

Survivors include her mother and stepfather, John Johnson and Leona Tully Johnson. Chalmers; her father Robert Lane, Mason City, Iowa; one son Nicholas (Nick) Banes at home; a grandmother, Mrs. Nora Spear, Brookston, a brother Paul Spear, R.1 Battle Ground; several aunts and uncles; me nephew and one niece.

Services were conducted Monday at 10 a.m. at Hartzler Funeral Home with the Rev Charles Fluckey officiating.

Burial was in Chalmers Comnunity Cemetery.
