Betty B. Baker


Better B. Thompson Baker, 82, Heritage Health Care, West Lafayette, died August 2, at Heritage health Care, West Lafayette.

She had lived in Monon and Monticello most of her life.

She was born April 15, 1916, to Ralph M. and Gladys Aldridge Beauchamp, in Indianapolis.  She was first married Aug. 4, 1940, to Owen C. Jones, in Monon, and he died in 1963.

She then was married March 8, 1952, to Lynn A. Thompson, in Kentland.  He died in 1976.  She then married Jacob Baker, March 10, 1990 in Yeoman and he died in 1990.

She graduated in 1934 from Hyde Park High School in Chicago, Illinois.

She worked as a waitress at Tippecanoe Country Club for 25 years. She had worked as a waitress and in catering for most of her life.

She was a member of the Yeoman Methodist Church

She was a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary in Monon.

Surviving are a daughter, Betty Lynn Bentlage of West Lafayette; two sons, Dick Jones of Custer, S.D., and Don Thompson of Monticello; seven grandchildren and two grandchildren.

A memorial service was held at Kellogg Funeral Home, with burial in Monon Cemetery.

Memorials may be given to the Monon Public Library or the Yeoman Methodist Church.
