Clifford "Cliff" Alkire, 87, of Buffalo, died Friday, April 15, 2005 at Monticello Healthcare Center.

He was born on August 15, 1917 at Lafayette to William and Rachel Brose Alkire.

He married Delsie Lane on September 15, 1939 in Monticello. She died on October 25, 1996.

He worked for the White County Highway Department for many years and did small engine repair after retiring from the highway department.

Survivors include daughters Sandy K. (Bob) Scott of Buffalo, Carolyn (Herb) Hunt of Denver, IN [sic], Linda Litner of Westminster, CO, and Connie (Jerry) Burton, and Bonnie "BJ" Wray both of Monticello; a sister Margaret (Richard) Massey of Monticello; 11 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.

Funeral services were Tuesday at Miller-Roscka Funeral Home with Rev. Chris Dodson officiating.

Memorials may be given to the Buffalo Cemetery Association or the Buffalo Fire Denertment.
