Bernard L. Alexander

Bernard L. Alexander, 76, a former Brookston resident, died Thursday, March 8 at 8:05 p.m. at Rosewalk Village, Lafayette.

He was born Sept. 1, 1924, to William and Hazel Myers Alexander, in Goodland. He was married Feb. 18, l950, to Joan Agnes Lowry in Kentland. She died March 6, 1987.

He graduated 1943 from Remington High School.

He served in the U.S. Navy from May 9, 1944 until May 4,1946. He was a fireman first class and served in the Asiatic Pacific.

He retired from Ross Gear in 1985.

He was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church in Lafayette.

He was a member of Chalmers American Legion Post 268.

He had lived in Brookston. In December of 1997, he moved to Tippecanoe Villa and then moved to Rosewalk Village in January 2000.

He is survived by daughters, Nancy (Terrence) Goodman, Lafayette; Donna (Terry) Gaylord and Cathy (Mark) Skidmore, both of West Lafayette and Diane (Todd) Smith, Brookston: sisters, Bethel Nevitt, Chalmers and Rosemary McCool, Lafayette; l3 grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

A brother, Arthur, is deceased.

Funeral services were Monday at the Hartzler Funeral Home, Brookston, with Pastor Randy Skidmore officiating.

Burial, with military rites by Chalmers American Legion Post 268, was in the IOOF Cemetery, Brookston.

Memorials may be given to the charity of the donor's choice.
