Della Adkins, 85, a resident of Monticello Assisted Living and Healthcare, died Tuesday, January 21, 2003, at White County Memorial Hospital. She had been ill for two years.

She was born in Morehead, Ky., on October 30, 1917, to Paris and Ellen Elliott Keeton. She married Oscar Adkins in Morehead, KY. on January 8, 1935. He died on May 11, 1973.

She was a homemaker and a member of Milroy Baptist Church.

She had resided at the healthcare center for one year after moving from Monon.

Survivors include a son, Tom Adkins of Monon; daughters, Joanna Hensley of Monticello, Ora Jean Kidd of Columbia City and Betty June Alderson and Kathleen Goodman, both of Mendon, Mich.; a sister Margaret Kraft of Knox; a brother, Allen Keeton of Morehead, Ky.; 17 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and 14 great-great-grandchildren

Four sons, a daughter, a brother, two sisters and five grandchildren are deceased.

Funeral services were Friday at Kellogg Funeral Home, with Rev. Larry Piatt officiating.

Burial was at Buffalo Cemetery.
