Friends of Bob live music co-op presents Saturday, April 17th Lafayette Brewing Company Tickets on March 12th! Available at: Advance tickets by mail are $11 “Bill Kirchen rules. It’s just that simple.” Austin American-Statesman Kirchen first earned rock ‘n’ roll glory because of his killer guitar work on Commander Cody’s “Hot Rod Lincoln.” In recent years Bill has been lead guitarist in Nick Lowe’s touring band, and he continues to put out superb albums of his own—2006’s Hammer of the Honky Tonk Gods being an excellent case in point. This spring he has a new CD coming out, featuring a mind-boggling list of talent including Elvis Costello, Nick Lowe, Paul Carrack, Commander Cody, Jorma Kaukonen, Dan Hicks, and Maria Muldaur.
Friends of Bob live music co-op presents Saturday, May 8th Lafayette Brewing Company Tickets on April 18th! Available at: Advance tickets by mail are $14 The spine-tingling harmonies, boundless energy and telepathic musicianship of The Holmes Brothers (bassist/vocalist Sherman Holmes, guitarist/pianist/ vocalist Wendell Holmes, drummer/vocalist Popsy Dixon) mix Saturday night’s roadhouse rock with the gospel fervor and harmonies of Sunday’s church service. They’ve recorded with Van Morrison, Peter Gabriel, Willie Nelson, Rosanne Cash, and Levon Helm among others. "...juke-joint vets with a brazenly borderless view of American music…with a purity of heart and rapturous harmonizing, these brothers are righteous indeed. A- " Entertainment Weekly “The Holmes Brothers allow their many influences – R&B, country, soul, gospel – to shine through their explosive and stirring juke-joint blues.” Rolling Stone

Friends of Bob is a not-for-profit cooperative that brings great music to Lafayette. Please consider becoming a dues-paying Friend of Bob
2010 dues are $10, though if you 'd like to donate more, that would be great. (Since we are a registered 501 [c][3] organization, donations above the $10 level can be tax-deductible.) Before each show, we publish a newsletter giving background information -- membership dues pay for the printing and mailing of these newsletters. Plus, our affordable admission prices in small venues sometimes fail to cover expenses, so membership contributions provide us with a safety net for such occasions. Friends of Bob is a not-for-profit all-volunteer organization that works to bring outstanding live music to Lafayette. A membership form can be found by clicking on the How Can You Help button at the top of this page.
