Kanab, Utah

November 2008, we take our fall trip to Las Vegas.

Nov. 10 - Jo & I arrive in Las Vegas, pick up the rental car, check in to our 2 bedroom unit at Desert Paradise, head to the grocery store and stock up.
Nov. 11 - Suzi arrives. Famous Dave's was a very good dinner.
Nov. 12 - we visit Valley of Fire Nevada State Park. We stopped at Mama Luigi's for a good pizza.
Nov. 13 - Diane calls and her plane is delayed an hour. We pick her up at the airport on the way to Kanab Utah. (Note: you have to forgive Diane, she is Michigan Wolverine.)
Upon arriving at Kanab, we move in to Red Door Cottage. Other than the fact the deposit check bounced and nearly 5 months later, we are still working on getting the refund, RDC was a great place to stay. Had a good meal at Houston's Trail End.
Nov. 14 - We visited the Grand Canyon North Rim. This si the first time the North Rim Visitor's Center is open this late in the year. We observed several burn area and there were a couple control burns in progress on the South Rim. We had some fantastic views and an extra visitor for lunch. The scrub jay didn't eat much. The Rocking V Cafe was great for dinner.
Nov. 15 - We visit House Under the Rock. We talked with an Apache woman that was selling jewelry. She was enlightening to talk with and a great ambassador for the area. Next we entered Marble Canyon and stopped at Balanced Rock and Lee's Ferry. We then when to the Navajo Bridges, Glenn Canyon Horseshoe Bend and stopped in Page.
Nov.16 - We visit Corral pink Dunes Utah State Park and Zion National Park. We spent a little time in Virgin Utah and ate at Gramma Tina's.
Nov. 17 - We explore Cottonwood Canyon, Grovsners Arch, Kodachrome State Park, and Bryce national park (it was a little late for Bryce to shine). We ate at the Cowboy Buffet and Steak outside of Bryce.
Nov. 18 - We visit Antelope Canyon, Toadstool Hoodoos and Paria Movie Set, Then dine at Nedra's Too. Nov. 19 - pack up and head back to Las Vegas and take a quick trip through Valley of Fire. We checked in to a 2 bedroom at Westgate Flamingo Bay. We ate another fine Ellis Island Complete Steak Dinner. Nov. 20 - Diane returns home. The rest of us eat at metro Pizza and go to The Beatles Love (FANTASTIC!!!).
Nov. 21 - crash and Rio Grand Carnival Buffet

This was one fantastic trip.
