May 5: We took ATA from Indy to Las Vegas. Pick
up a TrailBlazer at National and head for lunch. We stop at Fat
Burger. it was great as ussual. Then to Von's for supplies and on
to Mt. Charleston.

At Mt. Charleston, we drove to Mt.
Charleston Hotel and checked in.In the evening, we ate super
at teh hotel. The meal was much better than I expected.

May 6: We drove around Mt.
Charleston. We stopped at the Visitor Center. We were told,
the oper trails were still snow covered and that only the lower
trails were open. They were fairly friendly until we were leaving.
Then the message was "Don't leave any trash on the mountain.
Take out what you take in.", delivered in a manor that struck
my defiant cord. But, as always, we didn't leave any trash.
We took the Fletcher
Canyon Trail. We went 2.5 miles in acording to the Magellan
Meridian Gold tha we carry. It was a very nice hike.
After teh hike, we went to the Mt. Charleston Lodge
for lunch. It was much better than expected. The calimari was very
fresh and good.
After lunch, we drove around some more and headed
over to Lee's Canyon. We stopped at Desert
Overlook Trail.
May 7: We checked out of Mt Charleston Hotel and
in to Candlewwod Suites on Paradise. After checking in, we hop over
to the Mr. Lucky's at the Hard Rock for lunch.
In the evening, we ate at Ellis Island (this is one of Jo's favorite
places to eat), then went to teh House of Blues and attended the
Taj mahal concert. The concert was great. But, the music wasn't
loud enough. htere were too many people tryin to have conversations
over the music.
May 9: We check out of Candlewood
Suites and in to THEHotel at Mandalay
Bay.

May 10: We took a trip through Red
Rock Conservation Area.

May 12, we check out and take ATA back to Indy. |
