This trip is to attend IBM Websphere Conference. Mark, Tim and myself
headed out on the Friday before.
|
On the weekend we stayed at

The Luxor
On Friday after checking in, we went to Ellis Island for a bite
and to pay taxes.
|
On Saturday morning, we headed out to

Mount Charelston
Mary Jane Falls
on the way to the car Mark and Tim observed that it was 105 degrees
and asked are we nuts.
After a few stops, we arrived 35 miles away and got out of the
Jeep. It was 72 degrees at 7500 feet. We ascended to 8400. We
heard thunder and decided it was time to stop exploring and return
to the Jeep.

After coming back down, we visited a test site observation station
and the

Nuclear Test Site
We hit a couple sprinkles and some wet patches in ton the road.
When we got back to Vegas, we found out that Pahrump had a 1 to
2 foot wall of water run through the town from the storms.
Saturday night, we visited The Rio. It was the loudest and busiest
I'd seen in a long time. We didn't want to wait in line, se we
hit downtown.
|
During the week, we moved to the conference site at The Hilton.

The Hilton
There were thunderstorms that went through one part of town or
another every day.
Sunday night was the Hilton Steakhouse, OK.
Tuesday night was back at Ellis Island with a group of 10.
Wednesday, was IBM's treat at Binion's Steakhouse, really OK.
And some time downtown.
Thursday was IBM's treat at Jillian's. Fun.
