THE SEASONS

Venue: Long Center - 111 North Sixth St., Lafayette
Informance: St. John Pavilion at 6:00 p.m.
A wine celebration with dancing peasants, a rousing hunting song with horn calls, a prayer for a bountiful harvest, a crashing winter storm, a beautiful sunrise, croaking frogs… all are scenes, from serious to light-hearted, in Franz Joseph Haydn’s tour de force oratorio celebrating the seasons and meaning of life.

VOICES OF AMERICA

Venue: St. Thomas Aquinas Church - 535 West State St., West Lafayette
The history of music in America represents a colorful mosaic of styles and genres. From settings of familiar folks songs like “Shenandoah,” “Black is the Color of My True Love’s Hair,” and “Polly WollyDoodle,” to the diverse legacy of the African-American spiritual, including “Wade in the Water,” “StealAway,” and “The Gospel Train,” and from classical American composers such as Randall Thompson and Aaron Copland, to Indiana composers James Mulholland and Herman Whitfield III . . . this summertime concert promises to touch every heart as we are reminded of how blessed we are to live in this great country of America the Beautiful.
S.I.N.G.S! CONCERT
Date: Saturday, June 22, 2013 at 1:00 p.m.
Venue: Sunnyside Auditorium - 530 North 26th St., Lafayette
Join young community singers in celebration of fur, feather and fin. Animal Antics is a concert that concludes the summer choir camp, Singing Is Now Going Summer (S.I.N.G.S!) of vocal celebration about animals. From weasels to yaks and hippos to sheep, we will pay tribute to the earth’s splendid trotting, crawling, and leaping creatures.
INDIANA ALL-STAR SHOW CHOIR CONCERT
Date: Thursday, July 4, 2013 - Stars & Stripes Celebration
Venue: Downtown Lafayette
Come share with us in this summer show choir experience for junior high and high school performers. Members will attend music and choreography rehearsals in addition to dress rehearsals prior to their performance. This will be a fantastic opportunity for singers and performers from all the area high schools and junior high schools to come together to form one Super Show Choir!
