Logging onto DCWI.COM using Internet Explorer for Windows 95

These are the explicit instructions for logging onto the dcwi.com server using Internet Explorer for Windows 95. The following instructions are written assuming that you have the shortcut to the dcwi.com dialer and the Internet Explorer icons on your desktop.

1. Double click on the shortcut to dcwi.com dialer. This will open the dialer window.
2. Click on Connect. You do not have to enter in your login name or password at this point. When you click on Connect it should initialize your modem and dial the dcwi.com number. After the dialer is done dialing you should see a black and white box wiht a cursor blinking after the username: prompt. If you do not see this prompt you might have to hit the Enter key on you keyboard to bring up the prompt.
3. Type in your login name at the username: prompt then press enter. You should see the password: prompt.
4. Type in your password at the password: prompt then press enter. The window should then bring up the dcwi.com main menu.
5. At the main menu, type in the number 1. You should see a few lines of text and then some garbage.
6. After the line of garbage appears click on the Continue button or hit the F7 key. The black and white window should go away and you will see a smaller window saying "verifying username and password". This window will change to another one saying "logging onto network", which will change one more time saying connected at some baud rate between 14,400 and 115,200. This box will also have the login duration and 2 buttons labled Disconnect and Details.
7. Double click on the Internet Explorer icon.

You are now ready to surf the internet.
