Clark County

Practically in Kentucky, this little county has two state parks, Falls of the Ohio, noted for its fossils and situated on the bank of the Ohio River, and Charlestown, one of the newest state parks and also on the river a little further upstream. There are two other nature preserves as well, and a State Forest, and part of the Knobstone Trail, making it a good destination to spend some time in.
