Adams County reveres the name of Gene Stratton Porter, who lived around here and wrote some books that were part fiction and part nature writing, like Girl of the Limberlost ; she was also a noted nature photographer. Two of the three nature preserves listed follow this theme; Loblolly Marsh is a remnant of the huge Limberlost Swamp, and Munro Nature Preserve (also a Limberlost remnant) includes land once owned by Porter and an old school mentioned in one of her books. Baltzell-Lenhart Woods is a small property apparently not connected in any way with Porter or her books.
Loblolly Marsh (this is actually in Jay County, as far as I can tell, but we'll give it to Adams also)
